Liliana's First Haircut

A couple of weeks ago a friend of mine said that Liliana would look so cute with a bob haircut... well ever since then I have been thinking about cutting her hair. Before then I had never really thought about cutting her beautiful, long, kind of scraggly, fuzzy-after-naptime hair! Well, today I got the urge and did it! I said "Liliana, I am going to cute your hair, is that okay?" She said "yeah". :o) So off we went to the home salon - the master bathroom... I had her sit on the floor with me. She kept shrugging because it tickled and she thought it was a lot of fun. She made a big deal about it when Daddy got home and he was sad I did not do it when he was home... I got the urge and went with it, sorry Daddy. :o( Here is our big girl with her new do and YES, I put the goldie locks in a plastic baggie!

Christmas 2008

December 20th, 2008
Saturday Evening Church Service
Christmas Birthday Party for Jesus in Toddler Class
They decorated the little tree.
Here is Liliana staning on the table... leave it to the pk to break the rules.

After church the Groves (Chris, Bethany, Alley, and Juliet) all hopped into our van (Chris hopped into the driver's seat because of the snow/ice on the roads) and we headed out in search for some cool Christmas lights.

By the time we found some here is what things looked like in the van:

"I am so tired of driving around! Please get me home and to bed! - now!"
OUT!!! Like a 2 minutes before.......We arrived here! :o) Beautiful! This is only a glimpse and they were just in someones yard in S. Windsor.
Christmas Eve Service at CCC
A very, very proud moment for Mommy and Daddy Capps!!! Oh, my were we proud! :o) This is at the Christmas Eve service at church. They sang "Away in a manger" and did awesome! Liliana practiced and practiced. She was so proud of herself. (I have it all on video). They sang for both services!
Our beautiful singer in her special Christmas dress!

Christmas Day

2008

A very special and sweet day beginning on the Eve of Christmas. We did not put up a tree for a few reasons, just having moved being one of them. So, we put it up on Christmas Eve! Liliana and Noah helped decorate it....lights, three bows and one ornament (from my friend Bethany).

We enjoyed Donnie's famous scrambled eggs on tortillas with oj and coffee for breakfast after the kids opened one gift each. Then, Donnie read the story of Jesus' birth from the Toddler Bible and then we sang a few Christmas caroles (we love to sing together as a family!)

Then the kids opened their gifts! They got lots of little people stuff and an art easel, which they both LOVE, as you can see in the photos below. I was blessed the entire month of December with kitchen stuff, including a Kitchen Aid Mixer that I love!!!

Look at Noah's tongue as he draws... just like mommy! Oh, and check out how many pieces of chalk he has in one hand! Too cute!!!

Here they are coloring on the easel box with the markers they got. Boxes are the coolest toy!
My Handsome Little Guy!
Yes, the easel (I hope I am spelling that right) is also a play house - ha!

We went to Robb & Sarah Shull's later in the afternoon for an early Christmas Dinner. We had a great time! The kids played the whole time and did not fight once! It was fun seeing all the changes they made to the church condo that we used to live in. They did a great job!

Here are Liliana, Noah, Savannah, and McKinnzie(spelling?)

What an Imagination!

We had such a special Christmas Eve. I will write more about it soon, but for now I had to write about this because it is way too funny and cute!

As we were tucking Liliana in for bed on the night of Christmas Eve, I said to Donnie:

"Next year will be even more fun because the kids will be more into it because Liliana will be almost 4 and Noah will be 2"

And Liliana then said: "No, I am going to be 65"

Donnie and I looked at each other and silently cracked up and said:

"What honey" and she went on and on and said it like 4 times: "Yeah, I am 65". Donnie and I just cracked up in utter amazement that she even knew that number, let alone to say that she is 65! Hiliarious! Donnie said "she's a Keenager!" hahahaha! :o)

Liliana has also been talking a lot about her mother lately. I am not sure she even knows what that word means because I am mommy or mom. Well, on Christmas day morning, we were eating breakfast together at the table (as usual) and she was talking about her "mother" and I said "where is she?" and she said "at her house"... "she is outside playing in the mud". Okay, SO, Liliana's "Mother"??? was outside playing in the mud on Christmas morning! :o) I love it! What an imagination! :o)

I love my snuggle-bugs SOOOOO MUCH!!! What a joy!!!!!! Non-stop love and entertainment and amazement! :o)

Fusofrated

A couple of weeks ago Auntie Joy (Joyce Hopkins, from church) came over to watch the kids for us for a few hours. Well, when we returned that night the kids were asleep and Autie Joy filled us in on the happenings of the night. She said that Liliana did not want to clean up her toys and was not obeying, so Joy told her that she was going to have us talk to her about it the next day. The following morning as we headed down the stairs I asked her about her time with Auntie Joy and why she did not want to pick up her toys and she said "I did not want to pick up my toys because I was fusofrated with Auntie Joy." FUSOFRATED The new word on the street... our street, at least! :o)

New Year's Goals

Some accountability questions for myself:

  1. How much time to you spend at the computer? I love my computer! Ahh! :o)
  2. On the phone?

I am not challenging myself to spend less time on the computer, but to spend more time in the Word of God and in prayer! Ever since I have had the babies I have been out of the routine of getting up in the morning early and having "me" time. I hope I get an eliptical machine for Christmas. I have it all planned out... I would rise early, work out, shower, get my coffee and have time with the Lord before I do anything else. Hmmm... we will see. :o)

My Five Most Favorite Things About Christmas

1. Christmas Eve Candlelight Service! Definitely! It is my most favorite service of the year. It is so special, simple, beautiful and sentimental. If is a service where time stands still and the only thing spoken of or sung about is our Precious, Lord and Savior, Jesus! No announcements, no fillers, just Jesus. This is what Christmas is all about. I thought of something the other day as I was thinking about the whole Santa bologna... I love my birthday and if some big dude in a red suit tried to steal my birthday, I would not have it! So, why do this the day we celebrate Jesus' birth? :o)

2. The special memories made with family. The whole Christmas routine for us as a family is all new because our children are so small, but there are some traditions I look forward to starting this year since Liliana is almost 3 and old enough to help bake cookies, etc. I will post about these new traditions after Christmas.

3. Christmas music - love it!

4. Our Christmas Family photo. This always seems to be a good time to snap a good picture of the family all dressed up together after the Christmas Eve service.

5. I love all of the funny new Christmas movies that come out every year. Elf is one of my favorite and of coarse, It's a Wonderful Life... not funny, but love it!

There are so many things I love about Christmas! I love the business of the mall, the special seasonal scents at Bath & Body works, the lights and decorations.

No - He's T-Bone

Okay, so it has not stopped! Today is like the 5th day since we have taken on the lives of the imaginary cast of Clifford, The Big Red Dog! A little change I must make note of though:

Donnie is now Clifford and I am Emily Elizabeth. This change took place this past Thursday evening after the kids spent the entire evening with Daddy as I was off painting at the church.

She is so involved in this imaginary role play that I feel like I am being brainwashed to believe that we are these people and these actually are our new names! lol!!! :o) Seriously - she does not let up for a second! I can't even use her real name to discipline her because she will not pay attention to a word I am saying until I call her Cleo. Ugh. :o) Oh, goodness, so I just go along with it... in her mind this is real... what an imagination!

Daaadeee!!!

Now that we have a three level town home we often have to holler out for each other to be able to hear. Well, Liliana learned from me calling out "Dooonniiee" to say "Daaadeee" to help him hear us... well now Noah walks around yelling "Daaadeee!" The cutest ever! I am going to record it and put in on the computer... it is so hard to catch them doing stuff like this to record it, I will work hard to get it done!

I Stand Corrected!

This past Monday I walked past the kids room and saw Liliana laying on top of Noah on the floor and they were laughing, so I stopped and said "Hey guys, what's going on?" and Liliana said "he's T-Bone". She then told me that I am Clifford and she is Cleo. Ever since then without missing a beat Liliana will not let me call Noah by any name except "T-Bone"... even if she is in tears over something she will correct me and say "no, I'm Cleo." So funny! Here are our new family photos:

Noah, now known as T-Bone

Mom - aka Clifford

Liliana - now known as Cleo
Donnie is just Daddy. :o)

Fallin' Asleep in the Car

Noah fell asleep on the way home from church today. Irresistably sweet!

Liliana Wrote the Letter M

Today we went to Olive Garden for lunch after church and Liliana got a coloring page and crayons... out of nowhere she says "I'm going ot make an M" and she did! She drew about 10 M's... I sure wish I had kept that paper! :o)

We've Moved!

We moved today from our small two bedroom apartment to a lovely, cozy, more spacious town home! We love it! We painted the other day and "marked our territory" - with paint! :o) We look forward to making lots of special memories here!
Thank you, Lord for you unfailing love and faithfulness towards us! We are blessed beyond measure! Thank you, Jesus!

Noah News

My sweetest boy is getting so big! I just wanted to journal a few of the sweet things he is doing lately.

The past few days I have been noticing how he responds so well to simple requests like, "No, Noah, Come here"... he will just look at me and smile and walk over too me. Today he was putting a snoopy fridge magnet in his mouth and I said "Noah, give that to mommy" and I put my hand out to see what he would do and he looked at my hand and took it right out of his mouth and placed it in my hand and smiled. So sweet!

He LOVES to point at stuff around the house and in books and well, everywhere. He is discovering more and more of this big world each new day! :o) He points so cute with his pointer finger and thumb sticking out and does his baby talk to ask about stuff. He is really interacting at a deeper level now. So sweet!

Tonight I was laying on the floor pretending to be at the spa while Liliana drenched me in lotion and Noah noticed the headband I was wearing and he took it off and made a game of trying to put it back on my head. It was sooo cute! He would place it on my head and then smile and laugh! :o) Absolutely Priceless!!!

We are moving tomorrow to a townhome that is 300 square feet larger than the apartment we are in now and even in the business of packing, I find the time to blog and most importantly keep up with enjoying the most precious time spent with our babies! :o) Today, Liliana said she doesn't want to move to the bigger house, she said "I like THIS house!". :o) They actually love the townhome. We brought them over to see it the other day and they LOVED the stairwell. They climbed up and down and laughed. Liliana said it is a mountain.

One more sweet note about Noah before I go to bed... he is sooo sweet and giggly just before he is ready to go to bed. He always has been.

Goodnight - me and whoever else may read this. :o)

Connecticut Sunsets

I can't resist talking phonepix of the amazing sunsets here in Connecticut while I am driving!
