I was so excited and tickled when Noah started drawing faces a couple of weeks ago... They are evolving already. Here is one he drew today, two eyes, cheeks, a smiling face and a nose with big nostrils... hehe! He is too cute!!! It is amazing to see how he watches what Liliana does on her pictures and how he is copying her, I told her she is a teacher. AWE!

Our Little Artist

As any of my blog readers know, I am SO in love with Liliana's artwork. She draws for hours on most days at home and I love watching her creative process but it is when I am fascinated to see something outside of home that blows me away and makes me realize it is not just biological bias. When I walked into Liliana's class last night and saw her door hangers laying on the table before her I asked "Who drew these!?" thinking it was probably her, but not 100% sure because of how detailed and precise the lines were... this one in particular blew me away... look at the movement in the lines, the life, the expression, the detail... the stars shining through the window in the background... and she is not yet 5. LOVE this! I love art and all expressions of it no matter the "perfection" because it is all about the expression and the process... Go forth and create... all you readers... :o)

Heaven
Liliana loves to inquire about heaven and she does so at the most random times... Here is the most recent occurrence:
This morning at breakfast before we went up to get ready for church, Liliana asks me: "Mommy, when we get to heaven, is there like a door we go in?" I was very excited by this question and said "Yes! There is a big gate and there is an angel waiting there to open the gate for us when we get there." She then got very excited and said "I want make and 'I love you' card for God, and Jesus, and ALL of the angels."
AWE!!! She is so FULL of LOVE!!! She is very sensitive and in-tune with those around her and is very eager to share the love she has with others. Her greatest expression of love is to draw you a picture. As I have said many, many times, she could draw from sun-up to sun-down and never tire of it... she has bee this way since she was just over two...maybe even earlier... I treasure every one of her masterpieces and am constantly reminded by Daddy that I cannot keep ALL of them... :o) He is right...we would need a lot of space as she can sit down and fill up 10 pages in no time!

Our Little Artist
There is nothing she can't draw...she will ask me to show her how to draw a new animal and I will draw one out for her ONE time and BOOM...she will do it even better than mine...better because her lines seem more free than mine...she is not afraid to let the pen go where it needs to go...and she gives her creatures such amazing personalities. She can draw a mouse, alligator, dogs, cats, birds (my favorite), people, etc, etc...
A horse (I did not draw this one out for her...she just did it):
A cow (I LOVE his head and see the utters):
A cat:
I drew the pig on the left and she drew the one on the right:

Buzz Buzzzz
As the Nursery/Toddler Director at church, I spend LOTS of time in the toddler room...probably too much...lol...I am working on that! Well, a couple of weeks ago I made a couple of bees out of playdough for fun and the kids loved it! Liliana tried to make one too and did pretty good. Well, today, at least a week later, as we were at church working, Liliana made a bee all by herself...I had no idea what she was up to...
A perfect little bee...

The Rushin' Artist
See previous post for the inspiration to this painting. I took the photo along the shore of the Cape earlier this week with intentions of doing a painting...I spent less than 5 minutes looking at the photo and did not look at it while painting it. This one is a 5x7.
I regret that you cannot see the purples and pinks very well in the one below. I did this one last night...one color lead to another and I just had fun with it. This one is a 14X16.
I am calling myself "The Rushin' Artist" because I don't follow or really know any rules and I do my paintings on the spot as I feel the urge to do them. I don't look at anything while I paint...I just have fun!

My Little Artist
I love to paint! I love it and Liliana is following in mommy's creative footsteps...today I gave her a first real painting lesson... a simple scene of grass, flowers, sky and clouds. See my sample and how good Liliana did on hers! :)
Here is my most recent piece. I am SO hesitant to put it on here because photo's of paintings do them NO justice & I am so NOT done with this yet...SO FUN!!! :o) I am a beginner and have zero training. This painting kind of just happened...it is amazing to see where a little dab of yellow paint can take a girl!

My Little Artist
In church a couple of weeks ago we had the 2's & 3's draw what they would want to find in heaven. During the lesson we talked about what a wonderful, happy, fun place heaven is and this is what Liliana drew: Family... check out what looks like a mom with her baby! Awe!
Below is "Super-Bird", Liliana created and named him.
