In a Minute

"In a Minute" is like the secret pass-phrase to get Noah to grasp waiting until later...
For example: when he is whining or begging for gum... just rephrase the whole scenario into question form, turning the situation around and giving you control, saying, all excited, "Hey, Noah, you want some gum!??" ... he stops whining and says to you with in a happy voice with big bright eyes "Yeahh!" and then you say to him "Okay, you can have gum, IN A MINUTE"... emphasizing the "in a minute part... and he says "okay, I can have gum, in a minute, mommy".

The beauty of this secret pass-phrase is that "In a minute" can mean any length of time... one literal minute, 5 hours, a couple of days... it really doesn't matter... he just knows that later..."in a minute"... WHENEVER that may be it is going to happen, no fussing or reminding or whining at all... In a Minute just fixes it!

Well, tonight when we laid him down for bed he said 3 or 4 times "I'm gonna go in the PYRAMID, in a minute!" ...LOL!!! ....He loves Diego...can you tell... I am sure this pyramid talk came from some Diego adventure! haha!
